Fr. Frank Buhagiar, PP

  Fr. Frank Buhagiar was born in Siggiewi, Malta. He came to Australia in October 1968 entering Corpus Christi College in Glen Waverley in February 1969 to study for the Archdiocese of Melbourne. He was ordained in Malta for the Archdiocese of Melbourne on 4th December 1971. In 1972 he was appointed Assistant Priest at St. Matthew’s in North Fawkner. He also served as Assistant Priest at St. Andrew’s in Werribee from 1976 and at St. Monica’s in Mooney Ponds from 1980. Fr. Frank was appointed Parish Priest at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help in Maidstone in 1985 and came back to St. Andrew’s in Werribee as Parish Priest on 25th June 2000.
 
  Fr. Shymon

Fr. Shymon Thekkekalathungal
Assistant Priest
 
  Fr. Shymon Thekkekalathungal IVDei was born in Kerala, in the southern part of India. He entered the Seminary in 1998. He belongs to a secular Institute called “Institut Voluntas Dei”, which is a Latin term meaning “Will of God”. The Charism of this Institute is to do the will of God “wherever Christ has his rights”.
Fr. Shymon was ordained on 1st March 2009 and was appointed Assistant Priest at St. Albert’s Church in Muthiyavila, Kerala. He was then appointed Priest-in-Charge and subsequently Parish Priest in the same Parish until 2014, when he was asked by the Director of the Institute to travel to Australia for the mission. Responding to the will of God, Fr. Shymon arrived in Australia on 12th November 2014. He was appointed Assistant Priest at St. Andrew’s Parish, Werribee by His Grace, Archbishop Denis Hart on 28th January 2015. Fr. Shymon is delighted to do the will of God here.
 
  Fr. Darien

Fr. Darien Sticklen

  Ordained on 25th June 2016 at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Fr Darien commenced studies for the priesthood as a mature age student at Corpus Christi College, Melbourne, then spent four years in Rome at the Pontificio Collegio Beda, where he was appointed Head of Music and later, Liaison with the Vatican and the Italian Government Questura to assist overseas students to obtain their visas.
He holds a Bachelor of Divinity (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Theology from St Mary’s University, London. He is a Graduate Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Programme (Victoria, 2001) and his work in music theatre and cultural events over many years has focused on building community through inter-generational, life-long learning.
Fr Darien is very grateful to be serving the warmly welcoming people of this ‘mega-parish.’
