Our Dearest Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are so hesitant to say Happy Easter to you, but that is our wishes for you today. As we are locked down in our houses fear of coronavirus we don’t have the same solemn & spiritual feeling as we always have when we journey through the liturgies of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil celebrating the passion, death and resurrection of Christ. But, the experience we have this year has very much united us to the experience of the Apostles 2000 years ago when they too shut themselves in a room after the death of Jesus for the fear of the Jews. But their experience of fear and anxiety were turned into surprise and joy when the women came to them with the news of Jesus’ resurrection.
Easter is an experience of strength and hope in the midst of fear and uncertainty. But it was the passion and death that paved way to resurrection. Let us all put trust in the Risen Lord that we may too experience an Easter this year that will give us strength & hope leading us all to joy. Knowing that Jesus is risen and is with us, let us pray that He may bring resurrection to us and to the whole world casting out all evil especially this virus and leading us to a new life of love, respect, unity, peace and joy among us that we may have taken for granted in the past.
