LETTER TO PARISHIONERS 20 September 2020

LETTER TO PARISHIONERS
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Hoping and praying that all of you and your loved ones are keeping well and safe.
We are all very disappointed by the announcement of our Premier of Victoria on made 13th September that stage 4 restrictions will continue until 28th of September. The worse news was that the churches maybe open even for limited number of people only after 23rd of November.

We are aware that in recent time, many of our parishioners who were active members of our parish who passed away would have like to had their funerals in our church. We are sincerely sorry and saddened that this could not be made possible. Although we offered our private Mass for the repose of their souls, we promise that we will have memorial Masses for them as soon as the restrictions are relaxed and many family members can participate.

As the stage 4 restriction have been extended and the possible opening of the church could be only in end of November, we thought of opening our church at least for the funerals for our parishioners. After having consulted with the Archbishop and an Episcopal Vicar, we have decided to open our church for funerals for our parishioners. We will be strictly following the COVID safety guidelines of the state and the diocese.
At present only TEN people will be able to attend and no one should be waiting or loitering in the church grounds. Family and Funeral Director will need to organize the live streaming or recording, as we do not have the equipment in the church.
We have been visiting and anointing people from their home, aged care facilities and hospitals taking all the precautions and abiding all regulations.

We would like to let you all know that we are here for you and would do whatever we can to help you in present situation.
Thank you. God bless you all and keep you safe.
Frs. Anton, Anil & Albert
